Week 38 – Cop a look at the police paddock
Named for its former use as a horse paddock for police horses, this reserve on the northern tip of Horsham provides arresting views, fishing, great walking tracks and an island of nature on the edge of town.
Week 37 – Dooen the bridge to the weir
There is nothing like limited travel options to help you appreciate your own back yard. The track from Riverside heading upstream towards Dooen is a perfect discovery – with its history, cultural heritage, nature, classic riverscape and all on the edge of town.
Week 35 – This little island is a treasure
Yes it is small but it has an ocean of stories to tell about rabbits and goats, wallabies, mutton birds, missions, whalers and waves lapping at the lighthouse door. Come for a walk with me on Griffiths Island and I will reveal all.
