Week 52 –Nature’s salty masterpiece  – adventures at Lake Tyrell

Famed for its mirror image sunsets, we visited Lake Tyrrell – Direl in summer and found that even without water, this large, ancient salt lake has plenty to offer.

Week 51 – Big connection, Big rains and Big Water

Come for a walk along the Wimmera river upstream from Horsham and see how Big the water holes are!

Week 50 – Free falling along the Wannon

The Wannon River starts in the Grampians Gariwerd and winds its way through Red Gum country before reaching Wannon and Nigretta communities and tumbling over rocks o form impressive water falls. Today we visit both.

Week 49 – Desert Island wanders

There is more to Mt Arapiles – Dyurrite than rock climbing. Come on a walk up and down the rock with a kangaroo, butterflies, amazing views and a rainbow of wildflowers.

Week 48 Blazing trails on Barringgi Gadjin’s banks

The Bridge to Bridge walk in Horsham takes you from the Showgrounds in the middle of town, through houses, on a country track and over the bridge at Riverside. Then it is a lovely winding trail through trees and flowers on the other side of the bank, as you return to your starting point.

Week 47 – Mitre had a nice walk today

Standing atop Dyurrite (Mt Arapiles) we see Mitre Lake looms large on the landscape but many never walk its shores. Today we will with the salt, the sand and in the tracks of bikes and kangaroos.

Week 46 – Wind and sunlight erupt at Mt Napier  

A short and picturesque walk to the summit of this classic cone-shaped volcano takes you on and adventure through rock and lush bush perched in sea of cleared paddocks. Just try and do it on a fine day!

Week 43 – 500 million reasons to visit these rocks

Come with us to Baileys Rocks – the enduring granite boulders who have survived all that the world decided to throw at them over about 500 million years and a modern-day a plan to blow them up! Interested? Well read on!

Week 42 – Gariwerd on the rocks

This week we we take you away from the big name Gariwerd attractions to a few short walks.  This was done over two visits in the Zumsteins, Assess Ears and Roses Creek areas and involved some four-wheel driving – principally on Wallaby Rocks Track.
